Welcome to the showcase featuring the work of graduating students from the Department of Design and the Built Environment. The work represents creative, imaginative, sustainable and smart solutions. All our courses encourage innovation, creativity, and critical thinking, tackling some of the most important global challenges.
This has been an extremely positive year, with some excellent work developed by our students with support from staff. Some of the work has focused around the year of music. Everyone has enjoyed our state-of-the-art Barbara Hepworth Building, where we fully exploited opportunities to work closely with colleagues from the diverse creative areas across the School of Arts and Humanities.
Our students have produced such a vibrant body of work, and this showcase gives us a great opportunity to celebrate individual successes and show the collective strength of the Department. I want to take this opportunity to thank all those who have helped make this happen, including the many external visiting lecturers and presenters who have added an extra vital dimension to the student experience this year.
