The entanglement between the natural and the artificial seems to reach its limit through the emergence of fields such as synthetic biology. The proposed scheme is a collaboration between different departments having the same goal – discovering new materials, prototypes and experimenting with new spaces that are all shaped by the same field – synthetic biology. The spatial growth and distribution are split into public and private zones – a public walking zone, labs, offices, experimental spaces and future development. Located in Liverpool, this project explores the potential of reintegrating the relationship between architecture-nature-human. The Institute is ongoing experimentation based on biological system principles. The whole growth process is based on a specific timeline of 5000 days.
