In languages like Chinese, Farsi, and Mongolian, grammatical gender is neutral; they are genderless. Language has a deep significance in graphic communication. As such, it remains unclear how designers can address the socio-political issues around gender when they are tied to languages loaded with stereotypes. Arbitrary explores the potential of a genderless graphic language.
