Ten Minutes To Bed Little Unicorn (The Dyslexic Friendly Version) is a children’s book, re-designed specifically for dyslexic children aged 3-6 years old. I Collaborated with Penguin and Lady Bird to empower dyslexic children to read independently, and to promote joy and excitement when learning to read. The book includes advice for adults on how best to support independent reading, explanations of the book’s dyslexic friendly features and activities to check the children’s understanding. Certain design elements such as; placing images on separate pages, large font, spaced tracing and leading, interactive and multi-sensory elements and the use of blue, yellow and soft colours; have been based on current research into clarity for dyslexic readers. I also created puppet characters to help children understand the content of the book through imaginative play.
