Focussing on the town of Blackpool, my project considered how Graphic Design can change the way an area is perceived. Formerly 'threatening' locations such as dark, notoriously dangerous underpasses or isolated spaces are treated with environmental graphics - adjusting the interaction with these places. The final place-making magazine, showcases how brighter more vibrant colour, improved lighting and surveillance may help to eradicate fear within these 'dangerous spaces', in order to remove negative opinion and create a more pleasant environment.
