Authors that are not white and male are uncommon in English literature curriculums taught in secondary schools. Underrepresentation can make students feel like they are not “normal” — young people should feel understood, accepted and like they belong. What Normal Is aims to redefine the normal so that it is inclusive of all races, genders, and lifestyles. Normal is different for everyone and this is reflected typographically in the project's graphic identity.
