I started my project wanting to design a space giving a solution to a problem women face today - only 1 in 3 entrepreneurs in the UK is a woman. This is due to a lack of confidence, rather than ability. How could an interior help to empower women in business? The Brief: A member’s club and commercial incubator that empowers women in business. Building a safe and welcoming community of ambitious and fearless females - a traditional gentleman's club turned on its head. I wanted to create a space for women to gain confidence in themselves. A space to learn and to help educate others. A space for women to feel comfortable and unashamed to be bold and successful. A space women can make friends and build mutually beneficial business relationships.
The Clique gives women this space. It allows women to have the confidence to start, build, and sustain successful businesses. Often women are competitive with one another, but The Clique is about women supporting one another and lifting each other up, rather than tearing each other down. At The Clique… We are Women. We are Unapologetic. We are Bold. We are Informal. We are Encouraging. We are Feminine.
