Stigma is a sustainable, eco-friendly underwear department store that aims to support women and empowers them to feel confident within their bodies.
Stigma is for women of all shapes, sizes, ages, and backgrounds. Unlike other stores Stigma works to break the norm in retail and will carry all sizes and won’t follow discrimination trends that larger women face when shopping on the high-street. While tackling these issues Stigma will also be filling gaps in the sustainable underwear market. Stigma stocks underwear made from different natural materials such as Hemp, Bamboo and Organic Cotton. Each material has their own section in the department store, within each section customers can explore underwear lines whilst learning more about the material it is made from and discovering other day-to-day items made from the same material. This will help to encourage customers to be more eco-friendly in all aspects of their life.
The design of Stigma was inspired by how natural body shapes can change overtime and the manipulation of human shape and form. The interior architectural elements within the space represent both the soft curves found in women’s bodies and how suddenly these shapes can change through our lives.
