Helena Everington

Product Design BA/BSc (Hons)

Helena is a diligent, conscientious and creative individual with a particular interest in the start of the design process. She is adept at the more graphic and illustration based work as well as ideation at the conception of the design process. Despite this preference she is also competent at the more technical end of the spectrum with a strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes and CAD packages. Although being a product designer by degree, Helena achieved an A* at A2 level art and continues to create art copiously in her spare time. This artistic influence aids her rendering ability both using CAD software and by hand with markers, due to an understanding of light, perspective and material texture. Helena’s outside interests include history, birdwatching and supporting rescue animals. Having adopted many mistreated guinea pigs this was the inspiration for her final year project, a product that aims to improve rodent veterinary care. As well as these aforementioned interests, for over two years Helena has volunteered as part of a team to support design technology students online and holds a DBS certificate as a consequence of this position. She has also undergone safeguarding and UCAS training for this role.
