Product Design BA/BSc (Hons)

Tyra develops customer ideas to produce products that combat problems and meet specified requirements. At the University of Huddersfield, Tyra learned the importance of conducting thorough research, to empathise with consumers, clients, and other stakeholders, to produce appropriate user centred products. Working within the design team at Project:FF&E as a Design Technician during and since placement, she has designed primarily high-end student accommodation furniture. Tyra’s role includes the analysis of architect drawings, producing technical drawings and highlighting issues. Furthermore, Tyra developed a professional manner in order to effectively communicate with global suppliers, manufacturers, site managers and clients. Vita Student and Moda Living are just a few of the companies she worked with, which increased her knowledge around brand creation and NDA’s. Ensuring quality is a priority, which lead to Tyra obtaining her CITB (Construction Industry Training Board) qualification, in order to make site visits. Tyra has experience with various industry standard 3D, 2D and visual software’s as well as 3D printing and workshop knowledge. Tyra’s secured a position at Project:FF&E after a successful placement year and is motivated to help the company produce their own brand designs as well as explore other departments within the company such as, project managing.
