Adam France
Product Design BA/BSc (Hons)
Adam France is a BSc (Hons) Product Design graduate from the University of Huddersfield. He’s passionate about Sport, Outdoor Activities and of course Product Design. For his final year major project, he looked at problems users face while camping, in addition to identifying existing products which could be enhanced to further improve their usability, in this area. A tent peg was redesigned to allow a user to insert a screw-like tent peg into the ground. This design decreases the strain put on a user’s hand when inserting / extracting the peg, whilst also increasing the pegs strength when in situ. He has worked on multiple projects over the years including a live project which investigated redesigning items in a hotel room, focusing on improving user experiences. This project entailed Adam into doing rigorous research and developing his ideas from low fidelity models to accurate 3D printed models which allowed for precise ergonomic testing. He enhanced his skills in multiple ways, from client communication to CAD software.
