Joseph Conlon
Product Design BA/BSc (Hons)
Joseph Conlon is a recent graduate of BSc (Hons) Product Design. He mainly draws inspiration from the design and architecture movements of Bauhaus and Brutalism, as well as the work of designers such as Arne Jacobsen and Dieter Rams. Joseph has an excellent understanding of Solidworks and is capable of creating highly detailed CAD models and technical drawings. He also has a professional understanding of Keyshot which allows him to create photorealistic digital renders and animations. In 2020, Joseph started his own creative studio ‘KOSMO’ and has since worked on projects producing animations, technical drawings and CAD models as well as providing a brand design and consultancy service. Joseph’s final year project ‘Flo’ was designed with the aim of improving air quality in urban areas. It does this by using a HEPA filtration system encased in a piece of beautifully minimal street furniture. The ashcrete and cast steel construction allows Flo to complement the existing architecture, allowing it to fit seamlessly into existing urban environments. In the coming months, Joseph aims to further his design career and continue to develop his own style with the aim of one day having his own physical studio.
