Mubashir Akhtar

Mubashir is a multi award-winning designer and entrepreneur. He has previously designed and brought a ladder safety product to the market. He has got two granted patents to his name and has knowledge and skills in design, CAD, prototyping and manufacturing. He is multi-lingual and can speak English, Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi fluently. Mubashir has a passion for sustainability, safety and inclusive designs and his work and projects reflect this. His final year project is focussed on creating a product that encompasses some of the UN’s sustainable development goals. He has designed an innovative smart fruit bowl that saves food waste by alerting the users when the fruit has ripened. He has also designed a reusable straw to reduce plastic waste, which made the final shortlist for the 3M BIC design competition. He has designed a few products aimed at the medical industry, such as a pouch to hold a medical device which has won a design competition at the University of Huddersfield. He has also designed an improved and easy to use anaphylactic injector working to the brief set by the Duchess of York for Natasha Allergy Research Foundation.
