The Department of Art and Design is a dynamic and creative hub. Our staff and students have multiple creative, conceptual and technological skills. Students are nurtured to problem-solve, respond to their environments and to develop their professional identities.
The current academic year has been unprecedented in the numerous obstacles it has presented. It has meant having to contend with different modes of communication and interaction. It has also shown the resilience of all involved. And it has meant that students have had to think ‘outside the box’ and deploy their creative energies to their practice.
In spite of the challenges of lockdown, the department’s spirit has been unconquerable and great fortitude has been shown. Students have continued to win national and international accolades and have sustained stimulating exchange and debate with local, national and global creatives. This is because we encourage our students to be bold and brave, to take risks, and to be enterprising. As staff we are delighted to be able to share some of the brilliant work our graduating students have made and we hope you can join us in congratulating them on their outstanding achievement!
