My work is often miniature scale. Working in miniature scale allows me to feel in control. Patience, delicacy and detail are key elements of my work and the finer things are the most significant. Cinema is a major influence in my work, I feel that it allows me to find joy in my practice during the process and the final outcome. I look to David Lynch’s work for both the utilization of uncanniness, and the seemingly ordinary yet strange environments that are incorporated into his films.

The aim of my current project is to present an insight into my fear of the dark. It is an accurate yet surreal representation of my anxieties concerning the dark, touching upon the psychological effects of paranormal superstitions. Creating an embodiment of a fear is an effective way of taking control over anxieties, even if it is not in reality.
