Holly Thorp
Fashion Brand Marketing BA(Hons)
Throughout the majority of my degree I was working for myself, owning an ethical fashion business which was stocked in five UK stores and featured in Elle and Tatler magazine. My degree has given me the tools to understand how to market effectively and master what consumers look for in a business.
My final year is where I have come into my own, and truly know what I want my life and career to concentrate on. The success of my dissertation was the beginning, where researching into how fast fashion businesses can become more sustainable in realistic terms encouraged me to focus on this in my personal life and my academic life. My final major project represented that, where I used the idea of a circular economy, to create a fully sustainable fashion business, which was transparent and price accessible to the consumer. My strengths throughout the project was my attention to detail, understanding what was needed in the industry and creating something original. Since the completion of my degree, I have been nominated for the Considered Fashion Award at Graduate Fashion Week, and I am staying on at university to study a Masters in Strategic Communications, Leadership and Sustainability.
