Fashion Creative Direction BA(Hons)

From my time studying Fashion Creative Direction at the University of Huddersfield, I have gained valuable skills that I am excited to utilise within a real workplace within the fashion industry. I have found my strengths within fashion and the things I love the most, such as fashion styling and magazine content creation. Having previously studied textiles and art & design throughout high school and college, my three years at university I have allowed me to develop my existing skills within design development as well as digital work using Adobe software. I have been able to learn new skills that fit alongside these within fashion, for example, promotional marketing techniques, trend forecasting and fashion histories through time. For my dissertation, I chose to study the topic of power dressing which gave me the opportunity to learn further about women’s fashion from the past as well as allowing me to further develop my fashion writing skills. For my final project I created a magazine feature, look book, and press pack to support the launch of a new clothing collection aimed at fashionable working business women. I have demonstrated skills that I have learnt throughout university within this and I am excited to develop these further within a fashion industry job.
