Fashion Design with Textiles BA(Hons)

I am a Fashion Design with Textiles graduate with a strong interest in sustainable design. Whilst we are becoming more aware of our own actions that are impacting our future world, I believe this is the perfect time to reflect and celebrate the exquisite creatures that we still have in our seas today. Coral reefs and marine species are some of the most biodiverse and productive ecosystems on earth, however they are also under massive threat. With this in mind, I designed a collection to celebrate and capture the beautiful life that we have under our seas, focusing on the vibrant colours and intricate details to create a range of statement designs.

The collection focuses on traditional tailoring that has been transformed through sports-styling and fabrication, creating a vibrant womenswear collection that embraces a bold sense of colour. Each piece within the range demonstrates complex pattern cutting and detailed textile application. Technology-driven textiles are integrated throughout the collection, such as digital embroidery, uv printing and a contemporary approach to trapunto that symbolises the intricate detail that represents the under-water creatures.
