Ellie Goodfellow
International Fashion Buying Management BA(Hons)
My degree in International Fashion Buying Management has provided me with a range of skills including research, range planning and excel. I will be able to utilise these skills in the fast-paced fashion industry. I am interested in working with product and samples. Sustainability has been a key theme in all my final year assignments and is something which I would like to continually explore. For my dissertation I examined how greenwashing can affect consumer confidence to buy sustainably and offered ways the industry could rectify this. For my final major project, I explored the viability for Mulberry to use a bio-based vegan leather alternative in order to attract an increasingly eco-conscious generation. For my placement year I worked with Barbour as a Retail merchandiser, my main role was to support the merchandising/buying department and manage specific tasks to assist the global retail business. I had a range of responsibilities which helped me gain an overall understanding, including analysing data, finding bestsellers, sending clearance stores orders and doing a seasonal buy with the team. I am organised, proactive and reliable and this was shown on my placement as I was given more responsibility as the year progressed. *Please note all brands used within my work are part of university projects and are in no way linked to the existing companies.
