This project celebrates my grandfather’s life in a place in which I hold so much value towards. Shared as a series in a photobook, the work explores the theme of ageing in a space of love and familiarity, but also communicates the unspoken worry and pre-emptive mourning that comes alongside. It is a project that, although subject specific, is relative to all.
By photographing my grandfather from a granddaughter’s perspective, I am able to preserve the valued moments to create quiet, comforting and solace imagery that brings beauty to the everyday and the significance of his home.
