Sophie Buckley

Throughout my final year I have experimented in many fields of photography including music, fashion, portraiture and self portraiture. I have been also been working as a full-time photographer alongside my studies, in which I was commission to capture this photograph. This particular shot was taken as part of a campaign around the release of Abby Roberts single, Cigarette Burns from her EP Ashes. Referencing the likes of Damon Baker, I co-directed and styled this shoot with Roberts. Much like Baker’s photographs, I wanted to capture the intense reflection of light in Roberts’ eye which remains one of the most flattering aspects of this image, instantly drawing in the viewer. Shot on the Canon R5, the details are showcased beautifully.
