“Elizabeth’s Pain”
Elizabeth is disabled by invisible chronic pain, centred in her spine, affecting her ability to move.
She describes her pain in very visceral terms - “Teeth biting at my spine until it explodes….. steels shafts being driven into my body…. Cutting, slashing and pricking pain.”
The aim of the work is to initiate communication and open dialogue about hidden disabilities and the overwhelming experience of Chronic Pain sufferers, ultimately leading to more tolerance and understanding of these invisible and complex medical conditions.
