‘Structured Manipulation’ was inspired by ‘Miura Tessellation’, a Japanese art of folding technique, examples of which can be seen in the folded paper samples. The project explores the creative use of folds within a knitted fabric, creating geometric patterns, shapes and structures. Working creatively to explore what we have access to in our home, the work combines hand-dyed cottons and plastic bags together, creating a unique fabric. The collection takes inspiration from exterior décor, creating a final visualization of how this fabric can be used for outdoor shelters and pods.
