Discovered Remnants was inspired by beautiful found objects Ellie collected over the years from various locations, ranging from pottery to fossils. Within the sampling of the project, Ellie decided to focus on Passementerie, a technique invented in the 16th century within France. In the 19th century, this was experimented more, using more comprehensive ranges of fringes, gimps, braiding, and tassels. Since then, the skill has declined and is now considered endangered. Ellie has combined the concept of found objects with a modernised version of Passementerie to create unique high-end bags for the season S/S 2021. They are entirely handmade with the method of being slow to guarantee quality. These bags consist of a unique passementerie sample, and underneath is a handwoven Herringbone wool lining with an inside lining of polyester.
