The collection ‘An Everyday Adventure’ consists of two individual themes, one being centred around the fun that can be found at the fair and the other focusses on the excitement that can arise in a simple neighbourhood. Through research I noticed an unsettling stereotype among children’s interiors. The majority of products were targeted towards a specific gender, due to this issue my collection focusses on eliminating the concept of a certain colour belonging to a specific gender. To combat this issue my collection explores the idea of creating characters that have no specific gender, I achieved this through their clothing and accessories, giving each character individuality. The collection focuses on the activities the characters are undertaking, allowing the designs is spark creativity and imagination. For the designs to be accessible to all, the collection is designed for the low-end children’s market.
