My final major project is inspired by the current COVID-19 pandemic. My project considers the implications that this pandemic has, and still does have, on artistic crafting disciplines and everyday pastimes. My research investigates the importance of hobbies and craft in a society where lockdown, being at home and keeping yourselves occupied, has become a “norm.”
In response to this I wanted to create something that encouraged others to think creatively and so I decided to produce an online downloadable template. The template consists of stationary elements such as: memos, shopping list and thank you cards, but also involves an aspect of play. The abstract paint images and the digitally drawn herb illustrations are editable and that encourages others to combine and experiment with the different elements in their own styles, utilising my content as a base for new creative outputs.
