My final major project, titled Revival of the Cultural Oman Dance: “Al Bar’ah”, aims to educate and revive Omani culture. The project investigates how technological developments have the potential to save a culture from being forgotten by present and future generations.
This particular project focuses on Al Bar’ah dance and utilises 2D and 3D animation as a tool for educating younger audiences. Primary photographs and videos are used as reference images that were filmed in the Dhofar mountains in Southern Oman that is the birthplace of this tradition. The project also consists of a catalogue that explores the diversity, history and heritage of Omani culture.
