After studying MA Fashion Creative Pattern Cutting at the University of Huddersfield, I feel like I am now able to develop my career within the creative fashion industry with my skills of making patterns with different techniques in this competitive industry. I am a hardworking student who enjoys doing work within teams and working on my own. Being an international student and from a third world country I present myself as a creative and passionate student, who wants to succeed in both an academic and professional career. This course helps me to excel my knowledge in making different manual pattern making techniques and through Optitex. Apart from the knowledge of pattern making, I have learned about fabric selection for different patterns. I enjoy discovering pattern alterations (basic skirt and blouse to Lehnga Cholli). For my major project I promoted my eastern culture in the UK. I also focus on the fabric selection embroidery techniques. University of Huddersfield has provided me with a platform to enhance my knowledge and skills in fashion industry. For my final project I created a Punjabi bespoke bridal dress that is tagged as made in UK, while the workmanship done in Pakistan.
